    Sibling or babysitter?

When I was a kid, I never had a babysitter, b/c I had older brothers and and older sister. But some of my friends, (who had single moms) had a host of different babysitters. Of course, I still got to do fun things I couldn't have done had my parents been home, like stay up late, toast marshmallows over the stove, even take a sip of my brother's beer (yuck, and I still don't like it).

Which did you have? And did you get to do cool things your folks wouldn't have let you do?

I had babysitters. I don't remember any of them being all that fun. Probably just put me to bed and made out with their boyfriends on the couch. No horror stories either so that's good at least.

Wait...come to think of it, I broke my left leg at 11mo and I had a babysitter. The story... I used to wrap my little legs around the high-chair and rock back and forth, and it fell over with me in it. Pop goes the leg. The other version is I climbed up on the fridge and jumped off - snap. Either way I don't remember it, and I healed ok. So no harm done right?? Probably traumatised her, though. "Hello, Mrs. Alley?? Yes this is 'sob'...Jennifer....um....long pause...more sobbing... I don't know how to tell you this, but the little guys leg is all purple and swollen. I...um...I think it's broken,...what?? Yeah...on the fridge again like you warned me.....yes.. he won't stop crying.....um....sob...sob... can you come home now???....Do I still get paid??

I never had one,had a pain in the neck older brother that kept a running total of my screw ups and did the "I'M GONNA TELL MOM AND DAD WHAT YOU DID!!!"No matter what happened and who did it he spun it in his favor.A baysitter would have been a lot better I think.

          Hmmmm....

Neither. Me and my mom lived with my grandparents and Pa couldn't work 'cos he had so many problems. So he was my live-in babysitter. (although in some ways I was HIS, since it was my job to ensure he didn't burn down the house with one of his experiments, or falling asleep while smoking....)
