$399.00. It was in the special BF flyer for Best Buy. Regularly $499. Only 720p but for the price pretty sweet. I redid my bedroom adding two full closets and getting rid of my dressers so I needed to get a wall mounted TV. Went looking for a 19 to 24 inch and came back with a 32 inch. Bigger is always better. I highly suggest it if anyone is looking for an affordable TV. 3 members of my immediate family have this particular one and all love it.

As Chris said, Black Friday is the day when most retailers traditionally go into the black meaning they make money. It is called black because of the ribbon on an adding machine. Numbers in the positive are black and in the negative are red which also why you hear the word "red ink" meaning at a loss.

I didn't venture out and wait in lines but still got some great deals.

I bought a really nice HP laptop computer for my daughter from Bestbuy.com for $499. They had a Toshiba at Best Buy for $399 but didn't think it was worth waiting in line for hours to save $100 (not to me anyway). Also picked up Transformers Blu-Ray for $9.99 also on Bestbuy.com.

My son and I headed out late Friday after things had died down and he picked up a $50 wireless mouse for $20 and Staples had 50 packs of blank DVD's for $5.98.

On Saturday, I headed to the Adidas outlet which was having a sale (buy one item and the 2nd was 50% off). They are already marked down from retail to begin with so I picked up a pair of Adidas Running Shoes for about $20 which normally cost $60 or so retail plus some Shirts and other apparel.

720p is no problem at all for a set that size with normal bedroom viewing distances. Any increase in picture quality with a 1080p would be near inperceptable on a 32" set unless you were sitting very close to it. We have a 720p 32" in our bedroom too, it's perfect.

I didn't venture out into the madness for the sales, but found some nice online deals that I could buy in the comfort of my home. Places like Amazon were price matching many of the B&M stores' Black Friday deals, and it was much more convenient.

Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii ($49) and a spare 3rd party Guitar (Frontman?) for $10 at Amazon, all shipped for free. Guess I'm going to try this silly Guitar Hero craze after all.

I picked up a few DVDs at the local Wal-Mart. The only reason that I bothered to brave the mob was that I worked that night so was already in the building anyway I picked up the following:
                    Kung Fu Panda $9.00
                    The Incredible Hulk $9.00
                    Ratatouille $10.00
                    Peter Pan $10.00
                    Devil's Advocate $2.00
                    Blade $2.00
I Was really wanting "Kung Fu Panda" most of all, but couldn't find a single copy in the display with the other films. I finally gave up and just picked up a copy off the shelves in Electronics, expecting to pay full price. I was happy to see that it rang up as $9.00 when I got to the register

One other great deal for me. I received an email from Mitchell and Ness for 40% off of anything on their website. Their stuff is super expensive but top notch quality.

I picked up a few Washington Redskins shirts and a zippered hoodie and paid about $100 total. They just arrived and I can't believe the quality. The cotton is thick, soft, and durable. Probably too much to spend at full price but at 40% off...thought it was well worth the price.

I got the $479 Toshiba, after 9 hours of waiting... It was great deal and an overall savings of about $300, that and 6 $9.99 WII Games...oh and a $7 2Gig jump drive... It wasn't a horrible experience, but if I would only do it for a big payoff like the laptop.... otherwise it was too long and too cold.

I don't go to the "big city" on that day, and Wal-Mart here didn't have anything I couldn't live without, so I sat it out this year. I did pick up some stuff the next day, including Hollywoodland for $2 and Ratatoulie for $10.

It was the Dynex, which is kinda like a no name brand sold by Best Buy. They sell the Insignia brand as theirs but I haven't seen the Dynex brand anywhere else. I have a 22" that I bought a fre years back for my wife's craft room that I like also. No waiting, in fact someone told me the were still $399 over the weekend so they might still have them. I got up early but didn't wait out overnight. Ordered a couple of things online on Thursday night that had free shipping and got them today. Got to Sears at 4:45 and they opened at 5:00. Got everything I wanted and still got to sleep in. They said it was a 3% increase over last year but there definatly wasn't as many people out early like previous years. I found many stores didn't run out of stuff as quickly either. I got my TV after 10am and they still had at least 15 left.
