WPIX RETURNS! And Brings Back CHILLER THEATRE!!

Boy I miss this station....glad to see they're returning to some of their roots...after years of being branded CW11, the call letters are reverting to WPIX. AND they're reviving Chiller Theatre! Chiller Promo

What sucks is our cable system hasn't gotten this channel in like 10 years....

Remember the old PIX promo's where the PIX guy was always looking for something in NYC that resembled an 11 ... and that IDIOT kept never noticing the WTC behind him ?

I wanted to beat that guy to a pulp

I miss those days back in NYC. But according to Tapthat (the guy who posted the promo), they didn't use the 6 finger hand intro. That's the best intro! And I'm really mad I can't experience that all over again!

My cable stopped carrying WPIX in the early 90's when the syndex rules went into effect.

When we first got cable back in Buffalo we used to get WPIX and I remember watching the cartoons in the afternoon and they had this really annoying segment during the commercials where a kid would call in and there was a video game playing. I think the game was Space Invaders. The kid would have to shout "PIX, PIX, PIX, PIX" to make the weapon fire and then he'd win a prize or something if he had the high score (or something like that).

Yeah, that was a daily weekday contest using Mattel Intellivision games.

Yeah when we moved to AZ the first time in 79 we got "cable" (although it wasn't exactly cable, don't ask cuz I'm not sure. I think maybe we just got HBO) and when HBO wasn't on (yes HBO only came on at night back then) the station that would take the spot on that channel was WTBS before it became TBS Superstation. I believe the guy was Bill Tush who did the news on the station. Some times the HBO feed would start up and cut off WTBS right in the middle of something!
