Local Celebrities From Bad Local Commercials

The mention of San Francisco's King Norman made me think of a guy who starred in some crazy commercials that aired in Philadelphia when I was growing up. Ben Krass was the "spokesperson" for his family clothing store Krass Brothers. The ads were, of course, very poorly produced with Ben surrounded by some women of questionable beauty. He usually had some poor play on words and then the announcer would run their tagline- "Store of the Stars."

I know some others from New York that became more regionally famous like Crazy Eddie or Tom Carvel from Carvel's ice cream. Who was the guy that became a local celebrity in your town for cheesey commercials.
