I haven't had too many bad experiences with gifts that I recall. Even when someone has blundered a bit and gotten me the wrong thing, I'm usually pretty happy that they at least tried
The one gift that does come to mind, though, was from a girl I dated when I was about 18. I had only been dating her for maybe a month or so, and we weren't really taking off big-time as it was. I opened my front door one day to find she'd left a present for me there. Upon opening it I was instantly dumbstruck with horror, lol. She'd given me a white, red and black sweatshirt that was tacky enough to begin with. But she also added a large iron-on heart on the chest that said, "Nana loves Larry" in the middle. (Yes her name was Nana, lol.) Aside from the fact that we'd only been dating for a brief period of time and it seemed a rather strong sentiment as it was......what on earth gave her the idea that I would actually wear that dreadful thing?!?!?! If memory serves correctly, I dumped her a week later Such a meanie, I know. But that sweatshirt just felt like a forewarning of dread to come.
