Animal Planet's new Whale Wars series

    Man...I LOVE IT!!!!!

It's about the lone vessel called the Steve Irwin that seeks out a Japanese whaling fleet and takes them on in order to save whales from being butchered.

    I LOVE IT!!!

I highly recommend making this a must see show!

The very first episode was last week...but you can catch repeats on On Demand.

    Second episode is tonight.

I say just start arming the whales. Put friggin lasers on their heads. Teach them to talk like day of the Dolphin and maybe the will organize one day....

        IT IS THE YEAR 3008.

GLOBAL WARMING HAS FLOODED MUCH OF THE PLANET.

IT IS A WORLD WHERE TALKING WHALES HUNT HUMANS FOR SPORT.

IT IS THE PLANET OF THE WHALES...........

Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
        Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

I used to love watching those greenpeace people slam their rubber rafts into huge whale boats. I used to they those guys were nuts as hell BUT very committed to their cause. I may not have agreed with their methods but dang were they brave.

Actually it was a rift between the founders of Greenpeace about those tactics. The co-founder, Paul Watson, was the one who started that idea of the rogue approach...the Greenpeace board disagreed with his tactics and booted him off the organization.

So Greenpeace no longer does that...they are now a non-violent direct action lobbying and research organization.

Paul Watson went on to establish a brand new organization called the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society...and guess what? They are the dudes from Whale Wars, lol. The Steve Irwin is their flagship.

The Sea Shepard Conservation Society wants to disable whaling ships physically if they can (like throwing stink bombs at them, trying to tangle their ship propellers, coming on board, etc...)....and yes...boarding a ship at full knot speed is insane...very dangerous...they are also physically harassed by the Japanese crew.

There was a scene in the first episode where the Steve Irwin ship calls a Greenpeace vessel about the whereabouts of the Japanese whaling fleet...Greenpeace hangs up on them. Then Greenpeace calls them back later and purposely gives them wrong coordinates, lol.

I think this show should be called War of the Save the Whales organizations, lol.

I used to contribute to Greenpeace in the past...but now they are a bunch of pansies...I'm gonna start donating to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society...they are more fun, lol.
