I usually enjoy the cracked.com links posted here, but I have to say that the linked story about the teen girl who killed herself over a MySpace prank never fails to bug the crap out of me. It's horrifying to me that grown people are really callous enough to manipulate a kid like that. Of course, it's even more horrid that others would set up fake sites to spoof the kid, or call her family to harass them and taunt them over her "hilarious" death. People suck.

I agree, but it bugs me for a LOT of reasons:

-the "spoof" sites are really, really sad. KInda like how everyone in grade school would laugh at the kid who gave a wrong answer in class, but worse.
-bothering the family is equally sad. It seems like there are a LOT of really weak, scared people out there just looking for a target/cause of all society's ills.
-grownups taunting a kid like that? Online? Yeah; THERE'S an achievenemt.
-the kid killing herself bugs me too. People saying nasty things online have no REAL effect on your life. There's no reason to give 'em that much say. They SHOULD be easy to ignore. But online interaction is becoming increasingly important (and worse; TANGIBLE) for people.
