Yup the 80's were crazy down here. The thing is that most of these things happen in one big section of East Miami..(Over town,Little Haiti,Little Havana,Vietnam,& sections of the Grove) Not to say it doesn't happen in other parts, but for the Most part South Miami is awesome and West Miami is the best part to live in.
But Miami's like L.A,too many wanna B's and gangs in those ghetto neighborhoods"Time to nut up or shut up"

Sure you were.
Still a great excuse to post that sweet pic. Those guys rocked. Made me wanna be a cop. Glad I came around......

I lived in Miami (Shenandoah/Between little Havana and Coral Gables) from the age of 12 to 28 (moved away 4 years ago)... Never saw much crime, never saw gangs, never saw drugs. Heck, my high school was zoned as an "inner city" school!
Now just cause I didn't see it it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I just never saw it in my day to day life... And by the way, the infamous Shenandoah Rapist, was raping in, you guessed it, my neighborhood.
As for Crocket and Tubbs... sure folks in Miami don't dress like that anymore, but there are some places in South America that just got Miami Vice last week where that fashion trend is rad. (Those folks also refer to mullets as "the macguyver hairdo")~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Yeah The Gables is still a great neighborhood. What year did you go to Shenandoah? I went there in 91-92 and it was already pretty bad.In 90 when I was 10 years old my mom was picking up my sister,i was still in elementary.I go in to use the bathroom and was thrown out the 2nd story bathroom window by some gang wanna b's.How the hell do you throw a 10 year old out a window? Broke my arm, they called the cops and arrested the kidI lived in Miami (Shenandoah/Between little Havana and Coral Gables) from the age of 12 to 28 (moved away 4 years ago)... Glad to hear it was "just" a broken arm (as opposed to worse)."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. yeah that was scary, all i remember was going out head first like Superman ...and what's worse was that this was a middle school not a high school, the High school that belongs to that middle school was Miami High, the one you see in the movie the Substitute
