Anybody catch Legend of the Seeker?

Anyone watch this last night? Or are you a fan of the books?
I was worried this was gong to be campy like Hercules and Xena but it was actually done quite well. They strayed a bit from the book storyline but that is okay. I thought most of the principals were well cast, especially Zedd. Not sure about Darken Rahl yet.

It's too bad it is on network TV though as the really graphic sex and violence from the books will be absent and that is a big part of the books.

Either way I give it a thumbs up.

I saw the last hour when they re-ran it this afternoon. It looks ok, but for the most part the story came off like a really obvious Star Wars swipe. (Yes, I know Star Wars itself was heavily "lifted" from other stories). You had your Obi Wan, your evil dark lord and his first lt. who wears black armor...the whole sword/seeker thing reminded me a lot of the Force element. The burning of the house and killing of the adopted family unit allowing the confused young hero to follow Obi Wan .....
I havent read the books, and did miss the first hour...hopefully, there is more to it than what I saw!?

The story, as with most fantasy yarns, involves an unwitting hero thrust into events. As events unfold it drifts far beyond the common elements also found in Star Wars. Don't want to spoil any of the story line but if the show is successful and if it stays to the story line of the books (there are 11 books), it gets darker and darker. The initial villain gets killed off in the first few books and then the real story arc gets going.(although Darken Rahl does come back periodically from the spirit world.) I recomend the book series and have high hopes for this show.

Well I am good ...but legend I wouldnt go that far..........yet.

Seriously it was a good flick. I loved when Eccleson shows up at the kids house and says Hi I'm the "Doctor" Great inside joke.

Wait we talking about the same movie????
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
          Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.
