Unfortunately when you go things have to be settled fairly quickly. Most things go for pennies on the dollar. If you don't have a will you need one. Anything of special value to your heirs needs to be so stated other wise it could be fought over.

My sister and I have different tastes so we each took what we wanted without regards to value. Everything else was sold and split in half. Thankfully we did not fight over anything. I have seen familys torn apart over inheritances.

All my stuff goes to my wife and kids. They can do what they want with it. I have tried to tell them the value and where to go to sell stuff. A large part of it will probably end up in the trash.

    Cest La Vie!
Too many toys. Not enough space!

I've thought about this long and hard.
A couple of years ago, I made my will and entered that a close friend sell what I have and get the money to my wife, who knows little about values of my (1000s of) figures.

Recently though, that friend had some financial problems, and handled the sale of my extra figures in his store with" questionable integrity". Yeah, he stiffed me.

In my dreams, I always wanted my collection in a museum, but I guess that will always remain a dream. And to be honest, what benefit will that be to my widow?

I have no kids, and nobody in the family shares my passion.

And we both still have plans for the future, we want to move to another country. Now, taking tons of figures with us seems unlikely, so I am considering selling off a part of my collection, to create space and financial security. Not something I relish, but hey, this is the real world, and we're talking about plastic figurines here.

I have a complete vintage SW collection, and I think I'd probably just hold on to merchandise from ANH. That's already a big chunk that's gone. And maybe even just the first pieces I bought, like my old X-wing and TIE fighter. Sentimental, you know.

What is comes down to: you can't take it with you in your grave. Unless you have a really big coffin with shelf space and some nice lighting. It's still just plastic and paper.

Should some museum guy offer me money for it, to be put on display for kids and adults, I'd probably sell most of it. I love sharing it anyway, and seeing kids (and older guys) smile when they recognize stuff. But heck, even guys like Bob Burns didn't get space for his one-of-a-kind props....

So, a great question, and a tough one.
If I had enough money, you'd all get a piece.
At conventions, I always give a couple of things away, mostly to kids.
      Sharing is fun.

I am willing, though, to adopt one of you as my rightful heir.

Perhaps we can make a contest of it: ten of you apply. We'll have "action figure tests and trials". Every week, I'll vote one off. The last one standing inherits my collection. And will be changing my adult diapers somewhere in the future, too, of course. That goes without saying....

When I went to the west coast last month I wrote up a will due to the fact that my layover was in Washington D.C. so that got me thinking "What will I do with my stuff?" Well I have places for my toys, beetweee 5 people my toys would be good to go. The comics however would be sold and the money given to my mother. I also told the people who got my toys that if they ever sold the toys I left them they'd better give my mother a generous portion of the money.

My Hulk and Popeye collections would go to my little Turd (my great neice) MyLee since I have no children. So for the most part I can pay for my funeral and pay for Ma's expenses. I'm a man who believes in being prepared for the most part.

Serious business... if it's still around, we should all consider sending some stuff over the Action Figure and Toy Museum in Paul's Valley, OK. Kevin Stark, the curator, tells me he gets lots of stuff that people need to get rid of to make space, but can't bear to part with forever.

My wife is going to keep my collection, and give it to my daughter when she is old enough to take care of it. My Mego collection is one special bond my daughter and I share

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

In the first one, we will be testing how many points of articulation you have....
