    Tooth pulled today

Well I had a molar pulled today that fell apart on me. I kept it and saw that it was full of cavities. My teeth have always been a problem. Here are some stats.

    1. I have had 6 root canals
    2. I have 7 crowns in my mouth.
    3. I have had to have two teeth pulled in the past 3 years. They were not able to be saved.
    4. I still need one root canal (ugh!) which I will get next month.
    5. As a kid, I had to always get a ton of fillings.

I think this proves your teeth are genetic. My dad is missing about 5( he has dentures). I'm lucky, I'm only missing 2 in the back. Anyone else have problems with their teeth?

I'm the opposite. I go to the dentist every 10 years and they find nothing....

My father has great teeth, my mother has terrible teeth, luckily I took after my father. I didn't go to the dentist in over 10 years, and the only problem I had was a wisdom tooth that was growing into the molar beside it, causing a cavity. The pain from that rotting tooth finally made me swallow my fear and go to the dentist after all those years. The dentist said that I had great teeth (other than that one bad one) and I should appreciate them, so now I'm a good boy and have regular appointments.

Some cavities in the back teeth when I was a kid, no cavities since I was 12ish and no braces, blessed with straight teeth... I hope that gets handed down to my kids! $$

I brush homeboy. I also floss daily. My teeth are straight but just had a LOT of work over the years. I'm sure I made a few dentist's day.

                I feel for ya.

I have ground my back teeth smooth. I have 3 or 4 teeth that need crowns in a bad way, I've also had 2 root canals in the past 5 yrs.

Your right its genetic. My daughter is already showing signs of soft enamel on her teeth

Oh, man!! Nothing worse than a tooth ache. I've had three pulled this year; two wisdoms and a molar. One of the wisdoms was impacted with a nasty infection. I thought the doctor was going to break my jaw yanking that baby out, but the extraction and recovery was far less painfull than the sleepless nights of hellish throbbing...

My teeth chip if I chew on a toothpick, yet my brother can open non-twist-off bottles with his. Go figure.

My tooth problems were a result of growing up on Kool-Aid and Hostess Snack cakes plus poor genetics. Lot's of fillings and a few crowns.

I take really good care of my teeth brushing twice a day and flossing every day. Even so, plaque builds up moreso than average. My wife is a dental hygienist and she says that I am doing everything right but unfortunately am one of the ones who just has a genetic predisposition for plaque buildup.

Fortunately, not a single cavity or tooth problem for over a decade and I have every single tooth.
