    What's your thermostat set at?

I live in the north east (of the USA).
In the winter when I'm home 60F and at night 50F.
When I'm not home 50F I don't turn it up in the morning because I'm only there for an hour befor work.

I live alone so I can keep it cold with out being yelled at.
(if Mom stops by I have to set it at 70F )

When it gets really cold, I usually have mine on 65 or 70 --- and maybe 60 at night.

When it's only a little cold (like now) I usually have it off, and just turn it on for a short time in the morning and after supper ... same thing, like 65 or 70.

I live in Florida. We keep it set at 72 degrees regardless of the weather. (On AC, not heat)

Of course since last night it hit 32 degrees, no chance of the AC turning on.

I live in the Northeast as well. I like to keep it between 68-70 depending on how cold I feel in the house. I do have it programmed to turn down to 65 at night and during the day when my wife and I are at work and the kids at school.

Well, it's off now, but in the winter, the heat's set to kick in at 66. Right now (6am) my house is 64 degrees. But it's gonna get warmer soon, and there's no need to panic before wintertime in CA.

            Hey,
Here in Georgia it does not get as cold as other places, but it can get chilly. We set the thermostat at 62 during the day. However, having a programmable thermostat is great - it goes up to 71 at 6:15 in the morning so the house is toasty when the kids have to get up to go to school, then drops back down to 62 at 8:00 after they have left. Nice to have a warm house to wake up to without keeping it hot all day.

Honestly, I'm not "allowed" to touch it. My GF will kill me.

Programmable thermostats do indeed rule! It's 70 degrees from 6:30-7:45 in the morning then drops to 60 while we're out. Goes up to 69 for when we come home and then drops to 65 after 10 P.M. Even though we're in Chicago, we've got a pretty small place, so we don't have to spend a lot on heating.

Wow. A 60 degree house in the middle of winter would send me into a deep deep depression....

I keep it at 68 to 70 while I'm home. Sometimes I spoil myself and set it a 72.

When I'm gone it's around 60 or so......

62-65 at night, 70 during the day during the cool parts of fall and winter. When it's extremely cold outside, we put it up to 72. We have two young children, so living in an icebox isn't an option.

We have slowly been putting replacement windows in our home. I've noticed the furnace doesn't kick in nearly as much and the house stays consistently warmer/cooler now. It really did help out a lot.

Heck, mine's not even on. I open the window when I get home to cool the house a bit and usually leave it open all night. I probably won't even turn the heat on at all (didn't last year) unless we have a cold night.

We also have a programable thermostat. No furnace, but radiant heat in the floors supplemented by a small wood burning stove if it is particularly cold out. We like it chilly at night, but 68-70 or so during the day when we are home, and 60 if we're gone. I would like to get some Solar panals put on the roof since it has year round exposure, and would help harness a lot of otherwise wasted energy.

68 degrees after midnight. It warms up to 72 at 6:30 AM and lowers down to 68 until we get home at around 6PM. Any lower than 68 and we all get asthma and sound like a pack of seals.
