    Wrath,

One of the sales I went to this weekend had 2000 albums for sale. They were $1 each or $500 for entire collection.

This was not where this Beatles album came from, it was just from a garage sale.

I think my rarest Beatles record was an Apple test pressing of White Trash's Road To Nowhere.

I sold it off a few years ago --- wish I would have kept it.

My mom back in '79 found a butcher cover for me at a rummage sale for a quarter as well. You can always look 2.5" under the "Y" in Yesterday to see Ringo's black turtleneck...

Anyways, I pulled the two bottom corners off mine about two inches in, then stopped. There's on-line instructions, but it's preferred just to leave as be and display it next to a 'butcher cover' poster or something..

I actually just picked up a 'Mystery Tour' LP just for the cool inside booklet. Makes some great huge photos to matte/frame. Got one in my office here at work. Then I sold the album back (without the insert..) on eBay and made most of my $$ back.

That's the funny thing about those albums.. I'll most likely hunt down a minty Pepper album to frame as well.. Most pristine albums will be under $20 and are great to frame up.. Found a super nice '79 Wings bootleg from their final tour with an excellent cover (from the 'Baby's Request' video), just hoping to have Laurence Juber sign it (been emailing him every so often..).

this makes the english version more valuable.

          (I think)
The European release was 'With the Beatles' (had the German release for years), VERY desirable because it's one of the only releases with the famous 'high-hat' intro to 'All My Loving'.

Which is irritating because it adds so much to the song, yet now you have to search for bootlegs to find that alternative take, and I grew up with it on vinyl..

Cry for a shadow was actually written by Lennon/Harrison. I believe their only song together. It's an instrumental.

It's amazing how many passionate Beatles fans are around today, even on a board dedicated to 70's toys!

I assume most of you were born in the 60's, so was it a love transferred from listening to your parent's records? I love the music and the history but haven't a clue compared to the knowledge of some of you guys and girls.

              Cheers!

                Yes, you are right.
Now if you are talking Beatles, officially by the name stamp you are right but unofficially you are wrong. John Lennon helped George Harrison out on a lot songs but his name was never stamped on it. It was either Lennon/McCartney or just George Harrison (not counting Ringo) or if you want to count that instrumental from the Magical Mystery Tour called "Flying" which is credited to Lennon/McCartney/Harrison/Starkey....ugh!
Name stamping was something the record companies did back then. I could never figure that out.
Even if John Lennon just wrote a song like, "Give Peace a Chance." They still stamped the Lennon/McCartney name on it because he was under contract with the record company at the time during the Beatles.

Now if we are talking Post Beatles...Harrison and Lennon worked together a lot of after that. Lennon wrote and worked on several of George Harrison's compositions and vice versa.
You can hear George Harrison's guitar work all through John Lennon's "Imagine" album. They remained close friends through the 70s helping each other out.

For awhile after Paul McCartney disbanded the friends John Lennon, George Harison were going to carry on as a new band with Klaus Voormann as Paul's replacement but the idea just burried itself. Lennon and Harrison worked together on several ideas then.

Boy, did I knock this thread off track or what?

Being a huge Beatles fan, I remember them toying around with carrying on after the beatles without Paul. They were going to call themselves "The Latters". I'm really happy to talk Beatles with other fans. Hey cat, whats a good Beatles board to join?

There are a lot of good ones. Probably a good idea to take it to a "Beatles Forums" the "powers that be" probably get a little rustled after awhile when we knock things out of the ballpark of topics.

Here is a forewarning though. Some of these "Beatle fans" have come off as really anal in here. If you get one minor detail wrong they jump all over you and call you names.

The Beatles are probably my favorite band---just felt like chiming in and saying that.

I have been a Beatles fan since I was 10 and know too much about them. I guess meeting John Lennon made me a fanatic as a kid.

I just don't think there is anything done or anyone I have met that could top that.
That is just something you don't hear every day. Someone who got to meet a GOD Like John Lennon.
