Many many years ago we still had wrestling on tv over here, but then they suddenly stopped showing it. This was well before the Rock days. But in 2000 I lived and studied for 6 months in the UK and that's where I first saw the Rock lay the smack down. You gotta love the guy

He might could've laid the smack down, but he couldn't hold a candle to his dad: Rocky Johnson.

A wrestling fan-buddy of mine won great tickets to a WWF match back in 99 or so. The Rock was still a semi-heel. Man, that guy was impressive in the ring, and could work the crowd like no other. His smack-talk was indeed the best I ever heard. It was like going to see a really great (but violent) insult comic. Johnson can probably have a career in politics with that charisma down the road.

The Rock is the man!! he was a great football player in the "U"!! he was a great wrestler and he's a bad *** actor if you ask me,I love all his movies

I'll never forget watching him here in Miami at a PPV WWF event, when he came in..it was the loudest thing I've ever heard in a wrestling event

This is not about wrestling skills, it's about being funny and having mad mic skills...qualities Rocky Johnson sorely lacked.

Agreed...Cripes, S.D. Jones was better on the mic than the "Soul Man".

Even better were the bits he did with Foley.
