This is effectively the time when I had no more use for Saturday morning cartoons....Smurfs, Rubik, Pac-Man, Richie Rich, Scrappy Doo, Monchichis? Puh-lease!

Yeah, but that line up had a lot of reruns from the 70s. Although Thundarr, Mr. T and Goldie Gold and Action Jack were good 80s offerings. Since I had a kid brother and sister at that time, we'd watch the sickening Smurfs, but we'd also watch The 80s Hulk, and Spiderman and his Amzing Friends.

So at 7:30 there's a show about "Incest and the Sexual Abuse of Children"....there's a nice, light show, perfect for Saturday morning viewing.

At 5:30, you could watch "Dead Men Walk" with Dwight Frye. Now that's pretty cool. I miss the days when you could see cool old movies at those hours instead of a bunch of crappy infomercials.

I was pretty much done with Saturday morning cartoons by 1984 (except for Spider-man and Hulk, which luckily was always on later in the morning, so I didn't have to wake up early), and it doesn't look like I was missing much. I'm surprised that some channels were still showing repeats of "Return to Planet of the Apes" though. In my neighbourhood, that show was long gone after it's initial run. It's always a blast looking at old TV Guide pages like this. Brings back lots of memories.

For the most part,I slept late on Saturdays. Butt was usually dragging after a typical week in Junior High.

Wow, return to the planet of the apes was still airing. I guess that "Superman,Batman, Aquaman" show was the old filmation toons.

I think Saturday morning toons for the most part, weren't doing much for me in 84.
