Bought a Wii for my son for his birthday - what else do I need?

My son's 7th birthday is at the end of October, and we've bought him a Wii. What else should we get? Should I get another controlled and nunchuk? How about a memory card? I already have SD memory cards, won't they work with it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

well i think the system only comes with one controller,so you'll probably need atleast one more to join in the fun

Well, I just ordered an extra contoller, nunchuk, and a game he wants called DeBlob from Amazon, and I feel very poor now.

You can always rent the games to try them out first. Check with Blockbusters, Game Stop...

1st thing id do is chip it

costs around £60 here and games are £1

if your not going to chip then id also suggest renting or game swapping

a cool game one day soon becomes boring and old the next

you can pool played games and swap them for a new release at many stores here

the other thing i would do is have plenty of fun lol its very addictive

I don't have any game consoles...but this one has me very interested...boxing is my favorite sport...and to actually throw punches...well...that's right up my alley.

I opted to get the Wii Games cartridge which comes with a second controller. It was only $10 more than buying a regular Wii controller, so I got the game for $10. It's got a couple of fun games on it like pool and fishing which can really get you PO'd sometimes. Mario Kart is great fun. It was the first game my boys bought and they still play it when they're home from school.

We will probably get the Wii Fit at some point. I'm still overwhelmed by all the options and such as this point. This is my first dedicated game system since... the Atari 2600, I think. Yikes!
