Convention stories, part II

Some time ago, my friends and I had a booth at a convention.
Just selling stuff from our own collections.

This guy walks up to our booth, seeing something that lit up his face.
He points at a boxed vehicle, all starry-eyed: "I just can't believe it! I've been looking for that one for years! It's in perfect condition! And such a good price! FANTASTIC!!!!"

He spent another five minutes, going over the item, and raving about it.

He then turned around, left, and we never saw him again.

Strange people at conventions....

I get them people on a lot of my ebay auctions.

They send messages saying how much they love it and how long they've been looking for one --- but in the end, they never bid.

People are weird

Or, it's a form of screwing with sellers heads.

used to happen to me all the time. i'd have a really cool item on my table and everybody who walked by would stop, pick it up, and look at it. then they would put it down and leave or say they'll come back with the money. if i had a dollar everytime someone did that i'd be rich!!

Had a guy in Denver who used to sell megos at a show for crazy prices. He would never budge. One day the wife and I are selling something extremely rare and at a great price. He comes to me and says" I'll but this if you knock off $100". My wife overhears him and walks towards us and says "I don't think that's going to happen in this life homeboy". I laughed my *** off when I heard her say that to the red-headed rip off artist.
