    1970's all over again

MEGO's in the stores (Well a few comic shops have the EMCE's!)

1 1/2 hour long lines for gas. (At least here in the SE)

    Skyrocketing prices.

    Unemployment on the rise.

    Factories shutting down.
    ........

At least there are MEGO's in the stores!
Too many toys. Not enough space!

Until the high price of petroleum causes the toys to vanish from the shelves.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
      Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.

        A few more similarities...

A war that seems like it will never end.

Doctor Who is very popular -- even in the USA

....Star Trek is being revived with a major motion picture.
......North American automakers are two cups a' coffee away from being bankrupt.
.......3 3/4" action figures are on the rise.

          ....Darn! This is kinda scary.

              Sorry, I meant Car factories.

We lost our GM plant yesterday (Vans) and the Ford plant (Taurus/Sable) closed last year. Kia is buiding a new plant in west Georgia but they were going to build SUVs there and are revising their plans.

I heard in today's market, they can't even give SVU's away.

Thats a Very Good Observation. Here on the West Coast we don't have any Gas Lines Yet. I sure hope we don't. I do know Rent is Going Up Rapidly. Which Really Sucks. I already pay alot as it is.

Bowling shoes are fashionable (Skechers, yup, I have them too)
Platform shoes for women (and not just at the stripclubs)
