Saturday Morning TV 1978 Retrospect: What Did You Watch That Year?

It's hard to believe that it's been 30 years since I not only started the first grade, but I also remember the Saturday morning shows I watched 30 years ago. I recall turning 7 that year and the shows I saw were priceless. Not everyone on here was around back then, but for those who were, what shows did you watch back then?

    NBC:
    8:00 Yogi's Space Race

    9:30: The Godzilla Power Hour

    10:30: The New Fantastic Four

    11:00: Kroft Superstar Variety Hour

    ABC:
8:00: Scooby Doo: Where Are You?

    8:30: Fangface

    9:00: Challenge of the SuperFriends

    10:00: Scooby's All Stars

11:30: The All New Pink Panther Show

    CBS:

8:00: The All New Popeye Hour

9:00: The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour

10:30: Tarzan and the Super 7

In my case, I stayed mostly on ABC for the most part, I recall watching the classic Scooby Doo Where Are You? series and then Fangface by Ruby Spears. It wasn't until 9:00 that Challenge of the SuperFriends came on. First, we were treated to new episodes of the previous year's team, which featured the Wonder Twins. I recall the first episode of that series was The Demons of Exxor. The second half of the hour was the Challenge premiere episode, Wanted: The SuperFriends. Yes, I remember that plain as day.
Though Scooby's All Stars followed at 10, I remember flipping over to CBS to catch the latter half of the Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour, just so I wouldn't miss the new Filmation entry, Tarzan and the Super 7, which ran for an hour and a half. I recall it started with a weekly alternating of 2 segments, Web Woman, and Super Stretch and Micro Woman. The second segment were some new episodes of Tarzan. The next segment was the live action space series, Jason of Star Command. The next portion was another weekly alternating of 2 more segments, The Freedom Force and Manta and Moray, and the final segment was Batman and Robin in reruns of the New Adventures of Batman. A great way to end this variety show.
I do recall from time to time, flipping over to NBC only to get a glimpse of the New Fantastic Four series with HERBIE the Robot.
I know that in the spring of 79, ABC put Scooby's All Stars at the start of the lineup, in which I watched Scooby Doo, Laff A Lympics, and Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels. Challenge of the SuperFriends followed at 9:30 and was now an hour and a half show with reruns added to the last additional 30 minutes.
Again, it's hard to believe that's been 30 years ago. But I thought I'd take a few moments to reflect. I loved Saturday morning shows in 1978. For those of you who were kids back then, which of these shows did you watch?

    Cheers.

Hmmm...I was 12 then...and still watching cartoons, (heck, I still do!) I know I watched ABC like All-Star Laff-a-Lympics, Krofft Supershow, Scooby Doo and Fangface, I know I watched the Batman Tarzan Adventure Hour on CBS, along w/ Shazam/Isis hour, Space Academy, Fat Albert and What's New Mr. Magoo. And I'm not sure if the Pink Panther Laugh and a Half Hour and a Half show was still on, but I think that was NBC.

        I was 13 years old in 1978.
At that time, I already big-time cut down on watching Saturday morning shows.
I probably stopped completely by then.
I was more interested in sleeping late

This is an easy one for me. Living in rural Alberta, we only had three tv channels at the time. Saturday morning consisted of reruns of Rocket Robin Hood, Spiderman, and Max, the 2000 year old mouse. The Lone Ranger was on earlier, and a couple of new shows at the time (I might be off a year or so here?) were Harrigan and Circle Square. Harrigan was a live action freak show involving a 6'2" Leprachaun who sang and did arts and crafts...still remember the theme song--H-A-doubleR--I-G-A-N spells HARRRIIIIIIIIIIIGAN!
Circle Square was a thinly disguised religous show for kids.
I believe "Lets Go" also popped up hereabouts. It was basically a bunch of kids who sang and did crafts with one adult member. They all wore t-shirts with their names on the back, and 'Lets Go" on the front (or vice versa). Besides a song about about "johnny chinook" (you'll never read about him in a history book), I vividly recall one of the kids playing with a Mego Lizard figure (sans labcoat)....I could never find the Lizard in the stores and really...really hated that kid!

I envied kids with cable who got to watch cool cartoons!!!

If my memory is right, I am got ABC, NBC, CBS.
Started the morning with Tree House Club; a live action religious based show, but the first program of the morning, when the TV stations came back on the air.
            8:00 Yogi's Space Race
            9:00 Challenge of the SuperFriends
            10:30 The New Fantastic Four
11:00 Kroft Superstar Variety Hour (have a couple of the
episodes staring the Bay City Rollers on tape)
Some of the other shows when the above started to show reruns.
            PS

I don't remember. I know definitely the Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner hour, but the other cartoons don't sound familiar.

I would have been 13 in 1978 so I probably watched the following:

8:00: Scooby Doo: Where Are You?

                8:30: Fangface

                9:00: Challenge of the SuperFriends

10:00: Last half of The Godzilla Power Hour

10:30: Tarzan and the Super 7

Of course, it mostly depended on what my younger sister wanted to watch s we might have ended up watching Scooby Doo.

I recall when it was Scooby's All Stars, they had these episodes of Scooby Doo where they encountered characters like the Willowaw, the Skelton Men, the Cat Creature, the Loch Ness Monster, the Disco Phantom, and others. What I remember most about these shows was that they shared the same stock music that was heard on Challenge of the SuperFriends. Then, you had the Laff a Lympics and Captain Caveman segments rotated and you got two episodes of each.
Question, did the Godzilla Power Hour include a show called Jana of the Jungle?
                    Cheers.
