I like some of what he does and thought he was great when he first started. That Dive of Death stunt did go horribly wrong, though and his persona is definitely tired.

His street magic stuff is cool and a lot of it original. I watched a little bit of the show but quickly got bored with even the street magic. My kids love to watch those shows that has the masked magician revealing all the good magic tricks and how they are performed. Now most of the tricks are easy to figure out but some of them are still pretty cool.
His big stunts have been a big flop. I ended up bailing and not bothering to watch because I had a feeling it would be lame. The one thing I do give him props for is holding his breath under water for so long. That wasn't a magic trick and he really did hold his breath for a really long time. I get what he's trying to do with the Houdini stuff but I don't think people today are as wowed as they used to be back in the day because most people have some knowledge of slight of hand and illusions so they really have to go over the top to wow me anymore."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

when i 1st saw him he was raw and fresh, his street magic was awsome at the time, yeah we all knew it was illusions but its the reaction of the member of public that you watch, there faces was a picture
i enjoyed his early stuff, like footage of when he 1st took to the streets to do his magic
the stunts and stuff i dont like so much
well not fussed at all really
nowadays there are lots of them doing this type of in your face magic
ill always remember 1st seeing him levitate though on tape lol, the girl was like "he floated... did you see hime float, he floated, did you get him float" still laugh at that oneComment
