    Shuttle Launch

Just thought I'd give you guys an updated on the up coming shuttle launch. Atlantis is to blast off Oct 10th on a mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
Endeavour is targeted for launch Nov. 12 to the International Space Station, but could be used to rescue the Atlantis crew if Atlantis is damaged during launch or in flight as the mission is considered risky.
So for the fist time ever we got to see 2 shuttles on the launch pads at the same time. Well have a look, quite an awesome sight!

Yes, I was aware of that...I'm a huge space program supporter.

It's going to be an awesome sight...but it will be bitter-sweet because the space shuttle program is going to be retired soon.

The Orion is going to be our new spacecraft:

That's a neat shot. Maybe the mission is really the blow up the doomsday asteroid one.

I am betting T-bolt is right. . . time for you all to sell your megos off cheap whilst there is still time. . . .before the asteroid hits!

Back in 1976, after the successful test glide/landing of the Enterprise, we got a weekly reader in school that showed what a shuttle on the booster rockets would look like and stated that the first orbital mission was going to be in 1978. It then went on to say that by 1990 we would have a fleet of 100 shuttles and a launch each week. Some going to orbit and some going to the space station. I've always remembered reading that...That would have been cool if that had really happened.
                It's all good!

This shot was from my back yard. I can't remember which shuttle it was, but was to the space station.

Not only that but over there every Museum Member there has every single Mego ever made. We need to find a way over there and beat the snot out of them.
