You guys are nuts. The smell of a skunk instantly turns my stomach. Our road is very windy and there is a daily massacre of woodland creatures on and along the road. A day never passes where I don't drive through the thick stench of a recently plowed skunk. It hangs in the car for a good 5 minutes afterwards if it's a fresh kill.

I mean like far, far away ... it's a unique smell ... it's not like I'm going to run up to fresh road kill and sniff it, or buy an air freshener of essence of skunk lol.
Wow, I have never thought to explain to someone what skunk stench is like.
It is unmistakeable once you smell it and I really can't compare it to anything. The only thing I can think of that would even come halfway close is the smell of your urine after eating asparagus times 1,000.
I don't understand how a skunk could be mistaken for a cat.

I remember When I lived in Wyoming. I was getting out of work after a late night shift. As soon as I opened the Door to exit I saw a skunk. It scared me. I didn't want to get Sprayed. So I stayed inside until it walked away. It was a close call.
