Due to Ike and speculators our gas prices here have jumped from $.40 to $1.00 since last Friday. Prices have ranged anywhere from $3.83 to $5.45. Most stations are now out of gas and closed. I only saw 1 open on the way home from work ($3.99) with a massive line. Is it just in the Southeast or are other places effected? I was just wondering.

I'm sitting here talking to my mother and she said her sister in Houston sat in her condo for two days without power or phone. Was totally in the dark to what devistation others had happen to them. She finally got in the car today to drive to her daughter (my cousin/I have 3 cousins in that area as well). She got in mile long car line thinking it was just traffic getting to her daughters and realized after sitting for hours and realized it was a line to a gas station. I heard my cousin David in Baytown had a tree fall on his garage. This is sad stuff to read about. I can't believe the darn thing shot winds up this far. Our gas has been dropping, was down to 3.39. I'm sure it'll go back up, with the stock market doing so well today, and the bloody weather. Our gas as of this Afternoon was 3.93 for Regular in Mountain View, CA. Gas Speculators are killing our Wallets.

Yep, in my part of KY, gas is averaging $3.99 a gallon. We got high winds here a couple of days ago, but I don't think we had much damage. I slept through most of it, so I don't know how bad it actually got

Day this happened, our gas was $3.75. In some areas, in just a few hours, it spiked to $5.68!! Our Governor gave stern warnings against gouging! Said our supplies were fine. A gouging phone number was broadcast on our local news! People panicked, ran to the gas stations! Best way to create a shortage. Today our gas is at $4.19! Still rotten!Wants, original parts; thinking...

I got gas yesterday morning for 3.74, and it went up 25 cents by the time I got home from work. The station closest to Bok Tower was out of gas yesterday afternoon.You must try to generate happiness within yourself.
