I can't pcture Rogen, but I'm open minded. I hope they don't go too comedice, which they're saying they're not. Steven Chow would be a great choice, but Tony Jaa would also fit the bill nicely for Kato.

That's great news because Chow is a great action star as well as a solid director...now I'm really excited to go see it...yeah.

The writing was on the wall back in November when Chow "bowed out" as director over creative differences. Then in December he just plain walked away from the project due to creative issues. This had "stink bomb" written all over it before he was involved, and without him it's got to be dead in the water. A teen pot/fart joke comedy about the Green Hornet (which is apparently what this was to be...despite what Rogen tried to push) just doesnt sit well with a lot of people. Some might say there is'nt a large fan base to crush....then again Green Hornet is more well known than the Spirit and look what happened there....

the Lone Ranger and green Hornet in the same family story

That would be cool. Maybe even leading into a new hero character for the modern era in the lineage of Reid masked heros?

I've read that the writers of the POTC movies are working on a Lone Ranger script for Disney. I doubt the two projects will be connected in any way, since the studio doing Green Hornet is not Disney.

Since both characters are owned by different companies now, I seriously doubt any co-mingling of the two properties would be allowed at all. I know the guy who used to do the artwork on the Now comics Hornet series, and they werent allowed to use or reference the lone Ranger at all. They once showed a picture in the dark background of a masked horseman, with the mask being a full face flap type mask...no names used to identify the character or anything...and even that drew the ire of Classic media.
