    Green Hornet film

I like Seth Rogen...but he better loose those pounds...he's a bit chubby for the role, I hear he's working out already...but I can see he does have solid facial features...I think he can pull it off.

The film is supposed to have slight humor but it's not going to be over the top like the remake of Starsky & Hutch.

Seth Green has stated in the past that he would like to have Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle) come on board and play Kato.

I really like Stephen Chow, he's a terrific martial arts actor.

    Opinions?

PS. BTW...check out this terrific Green Hornet fan film...perhaps they should just hire actors Manu Lanzi and Patrick Vo to play Green Hornet and Kato in the upcoming feature film...

Hey, everybody ragged on Keaton as Bats, too. I'll give this the benefit of the doubt. If Rogan is working out, it tells me he's at least taking the role seriously.

I love the original show and recorded it when Encore Action aired it. But I don't think I'll be seeing this one.

It's all in how they handle it. Rogen needs to drop some weight (although he already has since Knocked Up) but he doesn't have to be overly buff. Green Hornet is one of the few super heroes who could be "average" in the build dept, since Kato does all the fighting for him more or less.Plus his non-offensive weapons like the gas gun and hornet's sting.

                  I'm apprehensive.

I really like Rogan in the right venue, but I can't picture him involved with the Green Hornet. Not so much in the portrayal, which I think he could do, but in the production & tone of the project, which I fear he might screw up.

I try to have an open mind about these things, but would'nt Clooney & Jet Li have been great ten years ago? *sigh*

Rogen as the Green Hornet is a terrible choice, in my opinion.

This is what Rogan said about the film over the summer:

To us it was just kind of this funny notion that when you say "The Green Hornet" to people, the first thing anyone says is, "Hey, Bruce Lee played Kato in that show." We've always wanted to make this hero sidekick movie. That was always an unexplored area to us and for years we've actually been trying to write a movie that was about a hero and his sidekick and then when we heard that "The Green Hornet" movie was up for grabs we thought that could be the most perfect way to do this story because he is the only kind of hero who's sidekick is actually more known than he is. We kind of thought that it would be a good way to tell this relationship story and just do a big crazy action movie basically."
So.. fans of big crazy action movies, rejoice.....

I think it is awesome news.Being canadian Im biased towards seth though...LOL
Seriously he can be in great shape if he works out.
Look at him in the 40 yr old virgin he was in decent shape. He was also in decent shape in superbad so I think he will do well in the part.
He can play serious as well so this has potential to be a great film.

i think rogen is confusing kato and bruce lee. yes bruce lee comes to mind when you mention kato and vice versa. but in the green hornet series, kato isnt more well known than the green hornet.
