Since all of the cels I own are Peanuts cels from one of the TV specials they were pretty expensive so I had the gallery that I buy them from do the framing. I'm just not taking any chances and good advice on the light. I do hang my cels but place them in rooms that do not get any direct sunlight hitting them.

As a follow up to Bill Melendez's death, I did get some thoughts on what might become of his company Sopwith productions. This particular gallery owner knew Melendez personally and helped go through his animation cels to find ones suitable for sale. He said it was quite exciting to go through a box of original animation from "The Easter Beagle" for example. He said the supply is not high because most of the animation cels were not suitable for resale (mostly faces to make the mouth move or bodies walking) so out of an entire box, there would be 5-10 cels. He also mentioned that Sopwith started selling the original background scenes which he thinks means there isn't a whole lot left to hit the market. Apparently, Melendez authorized two limited edition cels that will be coming out next year and he did sign them prior to his death but this dealer has no idea what show it is from since Sopwith will only share so much information but his speculation is that it will be from the Christmas or Halloween special since no original cels from either show have ever been offered for sale.

Great cel by the way. I'd much rather own something that's affordable and you love than some hoity toity painting that has no special meaning to you other than it looks good on your wall.
