San Jose Toy Show, Sat. Sept. 6, 2008

Here are a few photographs or our jaunt to the toy show today. (My first!). It was unexpectedly larger than what we thought it would be. Lots of cool stuff, but surprisingly a lot of new toys, especially Star Wars related toys, lots of Batman, and lots of Hotwheels.

One of the guests there was Jon Provost, who was a very nice fellow. He signed Hardygirl's coloring book without asking for a fee. NICE!!

Here are some of the delicious Mego items that were beyond our budget:

This is Hardygirl, about to purchase Ben's book. We didn't see it the first time we went around.

I did not see anything I particularly needed to have, but I did talk myself into purchasing a 1/6 scale horse, to Hardygirl's relief, so that she would not have to listen to my lament of missed opportunity during the hour's drive back to the East Bay.

I wonder how many times he's heard someone say "Little Timmy is stuck in the well" or something to that effect. I wish they had toy shows that big here in Maryland. I think the closest one to me is in Delaware at the end of October.
        It's all good!

Hector, you will be so proud of me! I finally bought some beer at the toyshow, three cans for $1.00.

(But the damned dirty human did not even card me. Can you believe that?)

That's the name of his book, "Timmy's Stuck In The Well"! And he told me that Timmy never got stuck in the well, but for some reason, that was a catchphrase.

                2 Michael Jackson doll outfits
                A Partridge Family comic book

                a pair of yellow-green click-clacks
Fantastic Voyage cartoon view-masters, and various other reels
record albums: Evel Knievel, All In The Family 2, The Littlest Angel, Laugh-In

                For my friend Falcon:
a Mego Captain America (w/ repro shield)
                A Spider-man comic book
                Ben's Mego WGSH's book
A Hulk Power record story album
and a 12" single of "The Riddler" from Batman Forever

I say it was a productive day!

Did you guys get a picture together?

BTW, it was bloody hot today...and that was here in Oakland...San Jose is even hotter.

                          You guys melted?

Well, I kept reminding Jess about a pic of the 2 of us together, but somehow, we didn't get around to it. The hall they used for this one was HUGE and we lost each other a few times. But thank GOD the PTB turned on the AC in there.

Hardygirl reminded me but we kept putting it off until we were so overloaded with goods that just the thought of stopping to take a photo together was too tiring. It was quite hot in San Jose...Luckily the toyshow was in a building with AC.
