That's too bad, I just watched "Gator" a few days ago and have been looking for it on DVD this weekend. I'm sorry to hear that.

I just watched Smokey and the bandit over the weekend. He was really a great singer and the fact he learned to drive that rig always impressed me

Oh man. I'm quite a fan of Mr. Reed. From all accounts, he was the genuine deal. What you saw on TV and the movies was pretty much him, just turned up a notch or two. A master at his craft, but his self-deprecating humor never let him come across as such. My dad is a finger-style guitar player in the vein of Travis, Atkinis and Reed, so I always had an appreciation for his music, as well as a love of the Snowman.

He never got the credit he deserved, but I don't think he really wanted it. RIP Guitar Man.

Just remember what Jerry Reed taught us.

We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there

Sorry to hear this. I am a fan. He's right up there in my 70s memories with Megos and Mr. Evel Knievel.

                      One step closer. RIP man.
