LA WEEKLY DETOUR - BYOB - VOTE!
Hi guys.
Favor....please?
There's a band that the band I'm in plays with a lot out here in L.A.
called BRAINSPOON (the voting site spells it "BrainSpoon")
These guys/girls have chosen to enter this contest where if they win,
it garners them decent positive reward--- including playing at a festival
with some decent label bands such as MARS VOLTA
It's a typical popularity voting thing---and I see that they are
slipping into 2nd place---and it was bugging me--
-so I thought.... man, if a few of you Mego guys do me a solid and
vote for 'em during the next few weeks
(you get one vote a day)---it might really help their chances to pull
back ahead.
By the way----if you'd like, you can hear their music on their myspace page
(they are a garage rock band with female vocals----powerful, melodic, fun
---yet introspective lyrically)
I know this "requesting" here is a bit extreme, but I'm so confident in
their (BRAINSPOON'S) quality material that I felt it wasn't too bad to post
this if simultaneously it introduced some of you power pop fans to a band
that you're bound to like..
---and---oddly enough---as great a band as they are---
they happen to be 5 of the NICEST people I have met since I became
a "public musician"---
check 'em out ----and bookmark that voting link above and see if you can throw in a vote every day (that you can remember)
