I hate to burst your bubble, but I was there, and it really wasn't that good. Are you sure that's the one you're thinking of?

Hey Ken, I was there as well. How'd I miss you?

When I bought the Live Aid DVD box, I was upset that wasn't included, so I dug through my old VHS tapes and found a copy I recorded off MTV back in the day. It's a rough copy recorded on SLP VHS, but I transfered it to DVD anyway, just to have.

I remember it being very cool live in person, just to be seeing them live (that was before all the reunion Plant/Page stuff), but honestly, after watching the the newly burned DVD I was amazed at how terrible they sounded. Well, terrible doesn't describe it well. I see now why they refused permission for the performance to be included in the box set.

It has never been released on DVD. They where so bad the band refused to let it ever be re brodcast or released.

Were you really there? Because I have to say, if you lived through a night in that nasty parking lot, that says something.
I thought at the time that seeing Zepplin live would really mean something. I mean, really mean something, because it was..Zepplin. It didn't,though I wish it did. That whole experience was like being trapped in some third world country. After all was said and done all I had to show for that horrible day/night was a really crummy t-shirt and it took 5 years before I would even go to another concert.
          Here's to DVD's.

Here it all is. Yeah, it does suck. Really bad...
What is up with Phil Collins? What a ******. He doesn't even stay in time with the band. Did they even rehearse this? Who is that other drummer? Wasn't he the guy from the Power Station? He is off and sounds odd also.

Robert Plant's hair looks like two woodchucks trying to mate. What is up with that hairdoo? Wow. This is a total ****ing mess!

No wonder Robert Plant stayed solo after this and wanting nothing to do with Led Zeppelin for quite some time. I read where Jimmy and Robert were pretty smuckered up on brandy before they went out there. That might be a big factor in this crappy performance.

Yeah, I was there. I remember some guy walking through the parking lot barefoot with his feet all cut up. He was WAY gone. I also remember urine running out of the mens bathroom door because the bathrooms were so overcrowded people were just letting it go wherever once they got through the doors.

Yeah, third world is a pretty good description.

I was at a local outdoor metal concert last year and some rotten kids tipped over a porto potty with some dude inside it. The thing slammed forward and slid down a long inbankment that was next to it. That was a mess! That dude was pretty ticked. It took three guys to get him out, they had to turn the porto potty over on its back to get the door open, and it took about four minutes worth of effort.
When he got out he had some funky stuff all over his leather duds and there was urine and some odd fluid all over the ground. He was one ****ed off dude. His long hair was soaking wet and I didn't want to know from what.

DVDs will never capture the same effect as seeing someone "LIVE"... It's just the whole vibe of a real concert that cannot be caught on film (or otherwise). Now in the case of the Zepplin thing, it does sound like a bunch of crap, but you did get to see it and you can say "Yeah, I seen them once and they totally blew"...
