Why do we say "Get on a plane" when you actually get in it?
Good question.
Also get on the Bus. vs Get in the Bus
We don't say, get on the House, but get in the house. So it isn't a size issue.
Others:
Snakes on a plane.
Get in the car.
Get with the program.
