Tom Veitch has passed away at age 80. He got his start in underground comix but is probably best known for the Star Wars Dark Empire trilogy and his run on Animal Man. He spent his later years running a bookstore in his hometown in Vermont and writing his memoirs.

So sorry to hear this. He was older than I expected, but it's still a shame. I always assumed he and Rick Veitch were brothers, but I don't think I ever saw that confirmed anywhere until now.

I assumed that, too--interesting bio, a varied career. I'm unfamiliar with his work, I should check out his Kamandi.

Dark Empire was a great miniseries. i had no idea he had a bookstore in Bennington. wish i had known, my inlaws lived there until last year and i would have gone in and had him sign Dark Empire for me
