Giving WW a "Greek look" aka "broken nose" seems like a good enough idea to me...
it's not like its an "out of left field" idea....I wouldn't even mind the accent to go along with it.

I still think what's being said about Carter's definitive portrayal means
virtually nothing---it's hard to challenge---but ain't THAT hard to replace her
...they just have to have PATIENCE...and they'll find a good WW.

Now the "not-so-popular in comics" thing ---THAT speaks to me. If WW just isn't
    pulling her weight---then fine.

Thing is...if WW...the "movie" is written right, and has the right actress,
it can be a HUGE leap for the WW character along the lines of what CARTER had
done for the character in the 70s and what Marvel's STORM experienced
to some degree through the highly successful X-MEN movies.

I think DC and MARVEL woman superheroes should have an opportunity here
to succeed on the modern day big screen---when comics are mostly bought
by guys and boys who feel weirder following the exploits of a woman than a man---
a movie might change the playing field a bit for WW and other colorful woman superheroes.

I think one big problem with the last 2 seasons is that there are no other characters on the show that are regs besides WW. In the first season they had steve and etta and the general. The acting is better too. Steve Trevor was good in season 1 but odd in the last 2, also In the last 2 seasons many people come and go and without any explaination or reason. Even the computer characters are there one day and gone the next.
Yeah there seemed to be constant retooling going on in the "modern era" shows. Trevor seemed to slowly vanish over time. And the other office staff just came and went. Kind of like the Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man series. They couldn't decide who beside Hammond was in the cast.

I agree the 2nd and 3rd seasons of the tv show are weak. the first season is so much better in so many ways.

They even tried to re-boot her again. The last show on the 3rd season shows her in LA with a new partner with a guy who can not die!

I would have loved Lynda Carter as the Voice of Wonder Woman too. I would also love to see a movie start her off in the world war 2 era in the 40s. I think the nazi's give her the reason to come to man's world.

^^^^^^ Well said.......As for WW origin tale there is no need to do a Golden age story. Superman and Batman didn't have it so why WW? The TV show did it for the first season on ABC and I'm sure it was not a budget buster for them. The show was a bit Tongue and cheek and it worked visually, but not ratings wise as the show moved over to CBS and was modernised. I have the complete series on dvd and the 2nd and 3rd seasons are really weak...Lynda carter is the saving grace because she's eye candy.

Wonder Woman was a dog title for years at DC before George Perez breathed new Life into it. WW is more a merchandising thing for DC than anything else. The non comic book buying public knows very little of her exploits. It's her image that sells not the stories.

When and if they ever get around to doing the movie it would be Wiser to find a total unknow than to cast a well know actress. Like what they did with Chris Reeve. You can always build a superstar cast around her. Do her classic origin and I'm sure you'll have a big hit.....

Well I think even though there have been multiple versions of Supes and Bats that's also part of the problem...there's been no single definitive portrayal that has everyone satisfied. To many Superman is Christopher Reeve but to just as many he's still George Reeves (and George played Supes some 50+ years ago). Same for Batman...to many, many people, he's Adam West. But Adam's portrayal goes against the grain for today's interpretation of Batman. So for today, we have a much Darker Knight but even that has been portrayed in succession by Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney and now Bale. But as far as Wonder Woman goes, I think most people feel that nobody can touch Lynda Carter...forget the rest of the show, the time jump and the bizarre plots...it's Lynda's magnificent Amazon that anchors the whole thing.

And I guess we should also keep in mind that WW has ALWAYS taken a backseat in the funny pages, even though she's referred to as one of the "Big Three". She's only had one title for the longest time (whereas Supes and Bats have multiple) and even then she's often had a hard time holding on to that. Since the reboot in '86, I think people have had a harder time connecting to the character...especially since the reboot itself made her take a backseat to her contemporaries as far as experience and time spent in the DCU.

If they're thinking about the different ideas for the origin plot THAT much--they are
overthinking it----just make it real good and TRUE to the CHARACTER---no one really
cares about a definitive origin---recent BATMAN and IRON MAN movies have proven that

The problem goes back to an amazing story i love but whose consequences have reverberated throught the last 23 years of DC comics. Crisis on Infinite Earths... was an Outstanding undertaking....However it left HUGE GAPS in DC History all over the place. How could they retrocontinuity Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman Plus others Out of the 40"s where thier Legends grew out of!
Then to relaunch these characters and say that Supes and Bats have been around a few years but WW is just starting in the 80's and there was no WW before that. That just throws out 40 years of stories for most characters and leaves the Gaps mentioned earlier. Now they can't figure out where to start her story for a movie, in the 40's or make it modern? if it's modern do you use the Perez storyline with her fighting against Ares god of war and other mythilogical creatures or try a more Superhero style origin? There's their quandry and all of our delays. Also try to find someone whose as Gorgeous and well figured as Linda Carter who comes across as believible and that's their 2nd problem. Just hire Linda to play Queen Hypolyta and many fans will freak out with JOY! Especially if you imply she does go back in time and joins the JSA. As i tell my Nephew who is still waiting for the Flash movie which has the same continuity problems , we just have to wait and see what they throw at us and hope it's somewhere close to what we think we could make given the chance(LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL)!!!

Nothing against Lynda or her well-celebrated portrayal of WW

    but

I feel WW should be on the same level as SUPES and BATS and
her tally of screen incarnations doesn't even come close---
absolutely NO big screen stuff---and FEW cameos in animated DCU
shows---admittedly in addition to her ONE big run on JL/JLU
(and the recent straight to DVD WWII era group thing)

What I said about AQUAMAN doesn't really apply here---he's not in the same
league as the DC "big 3"

but, again, WONDER WOMAN deserves the focus

    CAPTAIN AMERICA---same deal---BIG hero---"little" focus since the 70s--
-but even HE had a big screen attempt

I've honestly been disappointed they've never cast Lynda Carter as the voice for any of the animated Wonder Womans.
