Honestly, I usually don't enjoy this sort of stuff. The last one raved about here left me cold.

But this I liked. Thanks for sharing.

Bat In The Sun has been doing Batman fan films for over 10 years now. I remember meeting him in SDCC before he released his first film Batman Beyond. I even did one of the first interviews about it many years ago.

Yes, Aaron has built a huge following with his SuperPower beatdown series and gets paid accordingly. This one was mostly crowd-funded. I haven't seen it yet but I already know it's going to be the most faithful Batman to the source material. I've been a Bat In The Sun fan for many years but have pretty much missed out the last few years on their productions because of all the delays and production issues. I really need to go back and revisit.

Micheal Madsen and Doug Jones are in it.

that was really cool. thanks for posting it. Now if the execs at WB would let someone like this who loves and understands that character, we would get an epic movie

It was great, but I think the weakest part was the actor portraying the Joker. Andrew Koenig’s Joker in Batman Dead End was way better.

Also the Michael Madsen part drags on a bit too long, I mean, it’s only a 10 minute short, let’s get moving, folks.

But overall, it’s good. Nice, gritty, wet, dark, and atmospheric. The Batman dude is really good, loved the Arkham villain cameos too.

Like the take on the Batmobile as well.

It was OK...good performances but just more of the same old same old.
I'm tired of the same grim interpretation of Batman we keep getting over and over.

I don't think grim Batman is going to change anytime soon, if ever. For me, it's a question of degree and interpretation.

I think the reason the Gotham series succeeded to the degree it did was because the Rogues Gallery is interesting even as Batman has become less dimensional and boring.

It works pretty well visually, it has the vibe of the Jim Lee era of comics. I like most of the villains.

I’m not a big fan of Batman as the one-man-gang street-warrior-whatever. I like Batman as a detective, and while they did throw a crumb of detective work in, it was pretty lame.

And in the end, the story was pretty pointless.

It was really well done. Overall I liked it for what it was. It is like the Arkham video game-verse come to life.

Not to nitpick, but a few things I was confused/bothered about (spoilers ahead):

If Joker has been locked up in Arkham Asylum the whole time, how did he kill those police officers? I thought maybe he didn't do it personally, but orchestrated the events, but then Batman reveals that he found Joker's fingerprints... which means he must have been physically present.
Batman says he did all this "to take away hope", and then immediately says "This city knows what hopeless and pain can do, it drives it mad." ***?
Why introduce Gordon in the opening and then "Gordon is in the hospital" and change to Bullock?
Bullock was like purposely turning his back on Batman and then seemed surprised (both times!) that Batman disappears on him?

This is exactly how I feel. I want to see a movie version of 1970's Neal Adams blue and grey detective Batman. He was still dark, but not yet reduced to the flat "Mr. Growl & Scowl". He's become relentlessly depressing. That's NOT what I'm looking for in a superhero story.
