    Michael Turner has passed away

He had cancer for a while. He got really sick from time to time, but did his best to make it to conventions and continue working. He usually showed up at the Pittsburgh Comicon and was always a genuinely nice guy to fans. Here's the article.

The guy was my age! This is terrible news. I hope he remains immortal through his work.
Of all the souls I have encountered his was the most...human.

Very sad indeed. I met him at one of the Wonder Cons in San Francisco a couple of years back. This is when he was huge just after doing the Identity Crisis & other covers for DC Comics. He took frequent breaks from signings because of the cancer, but nobody seemed to mind. Such a nice & gracious guy. He was really upbeat about all the attention, but you could see the frailty behind his eyes from the cancer. He will be truly missed. RIP

                    RIP

I'm so shocked as I never knew he was sick. He was so young and that is so sad. I'll miss seeing his work in comics. I loved his witchblade. I also bought some of the batman/superman comics he did.

When I read this I was like, is this the artist I'm thinking of? I just couldn't believe it but sadly it's true.

I knew he was ill, and it was often touch and go, but this is a shock. He left behind a nice body of work and was admired by many, still, MUCH too soon.

Wow, this was a shock. I've been out of the comics loop for a while, so I never knew of his illness. I met him mid 90's on the convention circuit when he was just brought aboard Top Cow's team. He was such a great talent and a humble guy to boot. His covers were a little better than his panel to panel stuff, but damn. This was a guy who could have done another 20 years in the biz. His work will certainly have a lasting legacy anyway.

His Superman may be the best ever.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
