I'm curious about it but not enough to go see it in theaters. let us know what you think of it Brian. I figured I would catch it once it hits one of the movie channels, or maybe even on demand

To be truthful, they should have had Harley Quinn and her own team the Quinntets or Gang of Harleys instead of the Birds of Prey (in which she was never a member) and it would have been a better movie. I hated that they took Cassandra Cain and stripped her of the comic book bio and just made her Harley's sidekick.

If the movie went with Harley Quinn & the Gang Of Harleys the movie would have been better and could have made more money. From what I have read, the BOP could have easily been redone.

Well it's gonna snow all weekend here, so I bought tickets for the Mrs and me. I guess I'll find out for myself what all the non-fuss is about.

I didn't see anything in the trailer that made me want to see it. I've become completely desensitized to Harley Quinn I think, due to her oversaturation. I liked Robey in the role in Suicide Squad, which I did not hate, and enjoyed it as a brainless popcorn flick. But for some reason, there wasn't enough comic in this one to make me interested. Honestly, when I found out Ewan McGregor was Black Mask, THAT piqued my interest more than anything.

It's the same reason I haven't seen Joker yet. They've stripped so much of the source material out, my interest went with it.

I think it was the character designs. Too much Hot Topic and not enough superhero. I have heard the movie is actually pretty decent though.

My wife, daughter and I went and saw it on the opening weekend. We all enjoyed it, but I agree it wasn't very deep, but visually interesting.

Did they normalize her look too much?

They had zero interest. It plays like a parody. The designs are gawd-awful. Who's the audience? No one.
My daughter has a Harley Quinn poster in her room, she didn't even mention the movie.

I still like Margot Robbie as Harley, but I much prefer the first Suicide Squad film.
I actually heard good things about the movie, which is more confounding. I also didn't mind Suicide Squad either.

started a topic There is no thread for the Birds of Prey movie

There is no thread for the Birds of Prey movie

    That's kind of telling.

I'm a DC guy, i like their movies, heck I buy their movies. I love Margo Robey. I love movies where a group of women kick ***. i loved the BoP Tv series.
I can't put my finger on why i didn't see this in the theater. I just had no motivation to do so yet it totally should be my thing.

Also, why didn't my wife (also a fan) ask me to take her to this? Something's amiss.

Was it the marketing? Was it the character designs? I'm hardly a stickler for those things, I liked the Mandarin for gosh's sakes.

    Just something didn't click.
