Agreed. I was real disapointed with the Art,.. however I started reading the book,.. & couldn't put it down until I was finished. I liked the story quite a bit. Never read the Sequel however.

The sequel to "The Dark Knight" is a mess...crammed with too many characters outside of the usual Batman mythos...overpriced...and what seems like the beginning of Frank Miller thumbing his nose at DC which would culminate with the "All-Crap Batman" title.

^^^ Ahhh,.. Big thanks for the info.

You Know what I really liked ? It was Todd's McFarlanes Batman/Spawn Book. I thought it was great How he drew Batman in there. & At the end of the Book, when Batman threw that Bat-R-Rang at Spawns Face,.. then it stuck, Todd took that over to his own book, & had Spawn Use a ShoeLace to tie his face back together. I just thought it was neat.

                    1) Definitely Jim Aparo. Definitely, definitely. For The Brave and the Bold and Batman and the Outsiders.
                    2) Neal Adams - for defining Batman for the modern age
                    3) Marshall Rodgers - love, love, love his work.
                    4) Alan Davis - As much as I love the square-jaw look and the sharp angles of Jim Aparo's stuff - that's exactly how much I love the more rounder (is that the best way to put it?) look by Davis, like Tom Grummet.
                    5) Alex Ross - I like re-reading War On Crime, JLA: Secret Origins, the other oversized JLA book and Justice. I like the personality that comes through - I wonder which is more terrifying, seeing or not seeing Batman's eyes. Okay, the costume is kind of freaky, but the eyes probably inspire more fear.
                    6) George Perez - there's nothing he can't draw
                    7) Jim Lee - the reason i read Hush and didn't mind not understanding everything.
                    8) Mike Parobeck - "No disrespect" to Ty Temleton - But The Batman Adventures didn't really pop until #7 with Killer Croc.
                    9) Chris Jones - Keeping what Mike Parobeck started going.
                    10) Adam West - how can you not have him on any Batman list? He was as much an "artist" as any one else on the list!

David Mazzucchelli"s work on Year one still blows me away 20 years later. What's he doing now? Anyone know? Just curious.

I think he faded from the mainstream and did some alternative indy stuff and some teaching...I can't recall anything "super-heroey" from him since his Daredevil run with Frank Miller.

Neal Adams, Aparo, Mazzuchelli for sure...

Where's all the Breyfogle love? I thought he'd be a very popular choice! I loved his run...
