I was going to pick this up, but decided at the last minute to pass on it. So far it sounds like I made the right decision.

Every Issue Will Have 2 Covers. The Gl One Being The Better Of The 2, Which Does Not Really Say Much. I Love Dc Comics, But Between This And Batman Rip(off) I Am Saddened To See How Badly Things Are Going In The Editorial Region At Dc. Maybe Its Time For A Fresh Start And Get New Writers In. Maybe Fans Who Know About The Characters And The Dc Universe.Comment

^ See Grant Morrison's "All-Star Superman" is good...maybe it's his epic universe-spanning sagas like "Final Crisis" that suck!Stick to the little stories Grant that are outside of continuity so you can do your magic and leave the earth-shattering eventts (and Batman) to someone else.

OK...just read the first issue...once again (like Morrison's "Batman:R.I.P") this seems like a throw together-let's see if it sticks approach. Nothing seems connected, plot-wise...almost like a sampler for stories that could've been showcased in other titles. At least the original "Crisis On Infinite Earths" stuck to a basic story (even though it went off on some tangents) and hit the ground running with a threat...crisis if you will...of cosmic proportions. This one felt like....ennnnh...let's throw in some "New Gods-as-humans-in-disguise-crap-left-over-from-Seven-Soldiers", "another-rehash-of the Secret-Society-of-Super-Villains", a few one panel deaths, some Green Lanterns (GLs are always cool), some Monitor mumbo-jumbo (who gives a @$#%?), and oh, yeah...a cool cover by JG Jones (the GL one, not the other garbage).
Sigh...I hope this IS the "Final Crisis".Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Oh, yeah..and the Martian Manhunter's one-panel stabbing? Absolutely pathetic! But after wearing that hideous costume for the last few years, maybe he deserved it...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I'd almost bet you're right. Crisis had the advantage of having been planned out AHEAD of time, and was working towards a specific goal: the cleaning up of DC continuity. (For better or worse.) New stuff like this seems like... well, yeah; a sampler: meant to generate publicity and see what people go for. The they'll run with it until sales dip and they gotta try something else. Hence the redos.

Yeah Firestorm was basically non-existant in the DCU at that time and then they brought him back just to off him...and then give his costume and powers to a new guy in a book that didn't sell. Go figure...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment
