That's really awesome, but that photograph looks strange. I'm sure it's legit, but Superman almost looks like a CGI character inserted into an old photograph. And what an odd way to hold the balloon! Most balloons like that are held horizontal. They have him vertical with ropes running all the way up his chest. That must have been nearly impossible to move down the parade route!

Im sure if it was CGI they wouldn't make Clark look like a Greek Coney Island manager.
Did you catch the nano-second glimpse of the Buck Rogers ship?
Here's a still:
Thank you for identifying that!
I watched the video a little earlier today and saw a flash of that at the beginning of the video. I took a few tries at getting the video paused on the right frame to see it clearly and then I had no clue what I was looking at.
This is amazing. I've seen the parade in person, and it's nothing like what you see on TV. The broadcast is just ad after ad for broadway shows, and they show the floats and balloons only briefly.
^I miss the old CBS Parade presentations that would go back and forth from New York to Hawaii and a few spots in-between. They actually showed the balloons and floats more than NBC!
