My one huge problem with the Flash

The way they handle these meta-humans when they catch them.

The latest episode is a perfect example. Hazard, aka the bad luck girl. We are introduced to her and personally I found her to be pretty sympathetic.

Then through no fault of her own, (in fact it's Cisco's fault) she gains these bad luck powers over which she has no control. And she uses them to steal stuff and improve her situation in life.
She's definitely not "evil" by any means and doesn't seem to have any previous criminal record.

So, for committing a few robberies with no priors, she basically gets a life sentence in solitary confinement? (which has been proven cruel and unusual, not to mention psychologically damaging)

No trial, no judge or jury, she is simply abducted and imprisoned for life for something THEY caused? That's messed up.
Plus, doesn't she have friends and family members who will wonder what's happened to her? Seems pretty cruel and heartless to her parents to have their daughter just disappear.

They need to find a better solution to dealing with metas when they capture them. A power-dampening device similar to Caitlin's would be one option...what do you think?

Caitlin brings up another point...Killer Frost did waaay more bad stuff than Hazard, but she gets a free pass cause she's one of the gang? Also messed up.

Like its for life in that place, she'll escape or be needed for a mission or something. Its just a tv show, no need to put so much logic into it. Green Arrow turns them over to Argus and they end up on the Suicide Squad. Watched the sneak peek for the Elongated Man episode and it seems like they did an amalgam of Dibny and Eel O'Brian

I think that speaks to why superheroes don't work well in a real life setting. I mean, all of Batman's villians have mental illness and he helps by punching them in the teeth.

But yeah, it's a show for teen girls so how the "criminals" are treated is probably not high priority. The cell they always put the metas in doesn't even have a toilet and no one seems to care.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

^^^ they never show toilets on Star Trek either, but I never worried about it.

I’m so done with flash it just doesn’t pull me in.I want to like it but honestly I just don’t.
I can’t even pin point why ,It just lacks something.
Maybe Barry is too whiny I don’t know. Its definitely just the same every week.
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”

I have been pointing this out from the veeeeeeeeeeeeeery beginning!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at my first ever posts in the very first Flash thread years ago.

A few things that has always annoyed me about the show. The pathetic Star Labs lack of security, where any bum off the streets just barges in. The power of these people to capture and confine meta humans like they are the law of the land...no jury, no judge, etc. The prerequisite “let me talk to you in private so I can lecture you” speech...and Cisco morphing from arze clown to super serious back to arze clown mode. And don’t get me started on the rest of the cast, except Danielle Panabaker, she’s the only actor I sort of like in that show. But I despise Cisco and Iris, heck, throw in Wally West into the mix too.

Yeah, show me a bathroom too. Look, sci-fi/fantasy has rules too...there has to be implementations of logic along the fantastical, that’s how the genre works. If not, then just make one big blotch of acid trip scenes, dispense with anything that makes sense...and there, go for a trip, lol.

And I don’t get the love for this excessive praise for Grant Gustin. I find him highly annoying. He’s not that great of an actor. Ezra Miller is ten times the actor he is...so I’m glad he’s the movie Flash. If only the costume was better.

            There, rant over...

I think you would be right about Becky (or as her coffee cup says, Becca ) right up until her conversation with Barry. Once she knew the harm that she was causing, and actually threatened the people at Jitters, she stopped being sympathetic.

I don't think they have shown us much about what happens inside Iron Heights after the metas get arrested. Why do you assume she is not just in prison awaiting trial? (And it should be pointed out that not only did she steal that money, but she also "murdered" that security guard... so there's that.)

What is the basis for your praise of Ezra Miller? I think I have seen most of his movies, surprisingly, and I have never been terribly impressed... Or are you just saying that Grant Gustin is that bad!

Ezra Miller is a more natural actor, he flows. Although he can be a bit pretentious, I grant you that. Grant Gustin has more bombastic exaggerated expressions. He's perfect for TV, but he ain't gonna be a serious film actor.

All kidding aside...I don't have anything against The Flash. Some people dig it, and that's cool.

I watched it for two years, and it was fun.

^^ I loved that they got Ralph's nose twitch in! And they did well nodding at his roots as a villain with the whole dirty-cop plot thread.
