    Jerome/Joker on Gotham

if you have not watched the most recent episode....spoiler alert

so, I find it interesting that even though DC has abandoned the whole new 52 garbage, they still went with the peeled off face version of Joker for Gotham. thoughts?

It's the persona I care most about...and the character of Jerome has the Joker mannerisms down.

Maybe down the line...he'd get dosed with chemicals...turn his face white...and hair green...

    I'm digging him...

I don't watch Gotham, but the Leatherface Joker was the absolute dumbest thing ever done with the character. He was established to be extremely vain and obsessed with this face...so he has it ripped off, then stapled and taped back on? Pure dreck. They can try to defend it and say there were brilliant stories written around it, but it was just sensationalist manure.

i agree Chris. but i also agree that the Jerome character has the mannerisms down and the look, albeit without being white with green hair. I just thought it odd they went with the leather face Joker for this show. maybe that is as freaky as they will go with the character and not do the whole dousing in chemicals to bleach his skin white and turn his hair green

I'm sorry, but that looks like Schumacher's version of Joker.

He's swiping so much from Ledger, it's pathetic. And the whole Bruce/Jerome plot pretty much guarantees Batman could not appear in this reality. Bruce would look at these insane people and want to be the opposite. He would become a vigilante Luthor.

He's nothing like Ledger...and Schumacher should never be mentioned in any sentence except in a beetle dung conversation.

have to agree with Hedrap, there is a lot of Ledger influence in his portrayal, some young Jack in there too.

Love Jerome/Joker! Best version since Ledger! NOT loving the cut off face though.

Yes, agreed. Jerome is a great Joker, he embodies the character perfectly. However, as you said, wished they had not gone with the cut up face either. I'm still hoping that's temporary. Would love to see him fall into a tank of chemicals, smooth out his face, turn his skin white, and hair green, that would rule.

it'll heal up, make up gets costly on these shows. maybe his run in with Bruce next week will lead to Axis Chemicals.

I hope so, that would rule.

Jerome has the potential to be the best onscreen live Joker ever...the young actor has "got" it. But for that to happen, he's gotta turn white and green first...then we can talk

And you know, now I have to admit he has indeed been influenced by Ledger, Hamill, Nicholson, and even Romero...I'm sure he studied those folks...that's how the world keeps revolving after all.

They should've cast this kid for the movies...instead of lame arze Jared Leto.

Seems to me that his face will heal with inconsequential scarring (take a look at screen shots on Google of him with it reattached) and the storyline was adapted for the single purpose of assigning him a permanent unnatural grin.

I really like Cameron's work with this character so far, don't care too much for the Jerome cult aspect though. Hopefully that will run its course in due time. Other than that tiny compaint, I still LOVE this show. Looove That Joker
