Yeah, the original idea was that it would be red highlights, not white.

Watched a lot of fascinating interviews with Shooter in recent years regarding Secret Wars and the black Spidey costume.
Always loved Secret Wars. I traditionally re-read it about once a year.

I like it with the red. It would have been a neat touch to have the colored areas shift hue as the symbiote changed hosts.
