George Perez Justice League vs George Perez Avengers
Avengers.
Kinda funny that you chose to post issues that Perez drew the covers for, but for which someone else drew the interiors (John Byrne on AVENGERS # 181 and Chuck Patton for JLA #217)!
The Englehart Perez Avengers and in particular the Shooter/Perez Avengers issues from 160 through the Korvac saga are what made me a comics fan for life. The JLA issues are well drawn, but Conway's stories through most of that run were mostly meh to me, and I'd rate Perez's other DC work, especially Titans over his JLA stuff there, let alone comparing that JLA stuff to his Avengers run. If I were ot rate Goerge's DC work only it would go...
1) History of the DC Universe
2) Wonder Woman
3) New Teen Titans (1st time)
4) Crisis on Infinite Earths
5) New Titans (2nd go around)
6) JLA
7) Action Comics
8) Firestorm back ups in Flash
9) War of the Gods
I like all of it and not saying the JLA run is bad, but the stories therein don't measure up to his other DC stuff for me even if the art is top notch.

I loved the JLA/JSA crossover, though--it was the first I bought off the stand. Wasn't there a good Dr. Destiny story in that run, too? It's been ages...

I love the Justice League. I like them better than the Avengers by a long shot, but Perez was the regular artist on the Avengers when I first started reading the comic in the 70s and then he came back in the 1990s and did another great run on the book. He did quite a few JLA covers and some interiors, but Perez is the artist I think of most when I think of the Avengers.
First Run Avengers because the story matched the OUTSTANDING Perez art. Not so much with the JLA run.

And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see

As a JLA fan, believe it or not, when Perez took over I wasn't too happy. I really liked Dick Dillin's art. At that point it was a staple and when he passed away, the change to Perez was a bit much for me.
I think Perez' Avengers stuff even beats his Titans work. Not the Crisis book though. That was his ultimate!
