This stunning still of actor JK Simmons (as Police Commissioner James Gordon flashing the Batsignal from the roof of Police Headquarters) was just released from the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE film production.
It seems pretty clear to me that Zack Snyder just wanted to make a Batman film all along! LOL!
Just GORGEOUS!
Gotham City buildings in the background look old, and steamy, and shadowed, and Gothic... the Batsignal itself is an old, retro, army surplus WWII device.
Simply Perfect!
THIS is the "weathered noir" period look (faithful to the comics) that I've always said has been MISSING from big screen Batman films... the kind I was always told (on this message board and on others) would "never happen" or was "impractical".
This looks FAR MORE authentically correct for The Bat mythology than ANYTHING we saw in Chris Nolan's hyper-polished, ultra modern glass skyscraper trilogy of Batman movies.
About the only thing I would change is the shape of the BAT emblem on the signal. I think the classic logo would be much better. It would read MORE like a BAT when projected. But that's a minor gripe.
