..if Lee was coming up with all this stuff and the others just executing his ideas, why did the flow of new ideas stop when Kirby and Ditko weren't involved?

Because he was at a different phase in his life than he was when he needed to aid in birthing new story ideas to keep the company where it needed to be... and because he never pigeonholed himself as a writer to begin with... he was much more than that.

It's a compelling argument, and there are quite a few other "experts/scholars" who agree with him or at least think the analysis is credible. I am still a bit skeptical, but if true, it muddies the origins of the FF idea/creation even more.

It doesn't muddy anything for me. (Not yet anyway)

Even if the scholars were one hundred percent correct in their findings, and if I'm following your take on this, this scenario still would NOT automatically eliminate Lee's claim that he was the primary source of the four main characters' "sensibilities interaction" dynamic... all it would prove would be cloning of plot beats. And the plot beats were nothing compared to the character story elements as far what changed the industry overnight.
