So Doug Liman left Gambit for JL Dark, the Del Toro created project...that Del Toro bailed on, cuz that's his secondary talent.

Wouldn't JLD have been the perfect Raimi project? It's pretty much Super Evil Dead.

Unless the Raimi thing gets confirmed, my gut feeling is the 4chan poster/source only knew WB was talking to Raimi about a slated project dealing with magic and someone assumed it was Shazam, as JLD talk has been a desert.

Spider-Man 3 wasn't Raimi's fault AT ALL. Blame studio interference and forcing him to include Venom and a script he never wanted to do in the first place. The first two films proved he knew what he was doing. Sony should've left him alone.

That's exactly what I thought. Spider-man 2 doesn't excuse Spider-man 3. He should have quit instead of making a giant piece of garbage like the third Spidey movie.

I loved Spidey 2 and have minimal concerns about Raimi helming a film. I'm much more concerned about a Shazam! script than the director.

I'd really like to see Raimi's take on a Captain Marvel movie.
I like his work as a director overall.
Raimi has such a dynamic, distinctive and imaginative style which comes across in whatever genre he's tackling.
The Evil Dead is one of my favourite horror flicks... Spider-Man is still up there as one of my favourite super hero movies, and The Quick and the Dead is one of my favourite Westerns, too. So I guess he's gotta be doing something right.
