Captain America Statue in Prospect Park Brooklyn

So I heard about Cap's statue dedication so I and my family made our way down to Brooklyn's Prospect
Park to see the dedication. We braved the rain and heat but it was great; had a blast watching a really nice
simple dedication. The artist who sculpted the statue were there and I got to meet a chat a bit with them
and Marvel representatives were there. There were activities for the kids and all kinds of fun stuff...there was a guy dressed
    as Cap there too.

The statue is breathtaking and just an amazing sculpture if you're in the New York area I recommend seeing it in person
here are a few pics I took to share. Enjoy!

    Steve.

and I had to bring a Mego Cap along with me....lol

Despite this not being traditional Cap, I really like this. And glad Mego was represented, too.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

The statue is absolutely stunning....yes true not traditional but to a whole bunch of kids this is Cap to them. Marvel will probably always stick
to this version from now on.

After Prospect Park (through August 23), the statue will move to Barclays Center (home to the Brooklyn Nets and NY Islanders sports teams, as well as many concert events) until the end of September, and in front of a Sunset Park Bed, Bath, & Beyond from October until the end of the year. The statue was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, weighs 1 ton, and was designed by Comicave Studios with Marvel Comics artists. No final home has yet been revealed for the statue after its stint in Brooklyn.

Cool, ambitious project. At life size and 2k lbs., that's a significant bronze sculpture to put on tour. That clunky black base is poorly designed but the figure/sculpt looks really great.

As for Bed, Bath & Beyond!??!…*clearly Office Depot will be jealous.
