    DC Comics' 1945 Christmas Party

Todd Klein and friends look at a large DC photo of a staff Christmas party and identify as many people as they can, with supporting info.

    That's pretty awesome stuff.
I love this kinda stuff, and it's nice to see some of these comic legends young & just starting out. Too often we only think of them as old men or names on a credit list, and forget they were "real people" too.
    Thanks for sharing that.

I always love this type of stuff. I took Roy Thomas first volume of The All-Star Companion with me to a comic show about 15 years ago, and I got to meet Julius Schwartz and Irwin Hasen. Schwartz wrote the intro, and there was a 40s era picture there, as well as pics and work by Hasen. Hasen took one look at young Julie and said "You were one handsome mother $%^&er!" Priceless.

Now THAT is a moment of true nostalgia! I have similar photos of my parents at the holiday parties that the C & O Railroad used to put on. It probably didn't seem like a simpler time to folks back then, but from listening to my parents' stories, life then seemed a lot less rushed and employees and their contributions were appreciated a lot more.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

That is very cool, it's the first Christmas after the war and it must have been a great time, but I went thru the
list and weblink and I didn't notice the names or pictures of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster?

^Had Siegel already sued National over Superboy by this point? I know they were fired from the books by 1947.

Very cool, and it's awesome to see that note with everyone's names also survived all these years. Hey, Tom Cruise was there!

Does anyone else find a tremendous amount of glee in how well represented the Tribe would have been at a 1945 DC Christmas party?
