Grant Gustin on the movie Flash version...

    Gustin Grant:

"Oh sick, I haven’t seen it [is handed phone displaying Justice League image]… They’re completely different. Yeah, I mean I was kind of expecting this, I heard it was going to be kind of like Injustice. I hadn’t seen this yet, what else is out. Sorry I’m scrolling through the whole thing, I haven’t seen this picture. Yeah, that’s sick. Um… yeah, it’s sick.

But still a little friendly jab thrown by Grant:

"I’m glad it’s really different though [laughs]. Because ours is like a street, vintage feel that I don’t think has been done in any other version of the character.”

    Grant follows up with this:

"Well at that point it didn’t really feel like I was seeing my character on screen, at all. Because you barely saw him, first of all. He wasn’t really The Flash yet. And even still, Ezra’s just going to do his thing. It’s going to be, probably, pretty different. And I think he’s a great actor. I don’t think it’s ever going to feel like ‘Oh, that’s weird, he’s playing my character!’ He’s going to be playing his character. It’ll be cool."

With Ezra Miller starring in the official Justice League art and trailer, CW star Grant Gustin shares his thoughts on DC's new Flash.

I think the movie Flash is going to be another example of conceptualizing so far out from the source material that the audience feels little connection. This example will be even more so since the general public gets to see a more comic rooted character on television every week. Another Snyder stumble we can flush.

Flash is the first costume that gets worse with each redesign. Shipp's 90s suit is still my fav.

Oddest thing about Movie Flash is Snyder went through some absurdly elaborate design process, aerodynamics, stolen NASA/DOD tech etc...and so far he has no eye-shielding.

Tech-eye coverings? As if the character needs another brick in the wall of: "Gee, this new DCCU Flash seems an awful lot like the new MCU Spider-Man."
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

You like the phony muscles of Shipp's Flash? He looked way too bulky...to me, Flash should be a slim athletic guy...

I was thinking that, too. And regarding costumes, Flash and Aquaman should be sleeker and allow freedom of movement, not armored.

I enjoyed aspects of the trailer, but I'm not much more hopeful for this than previous DC films.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

At the time, the muscle size were fx mandatory. I got to LA around the shows end and heard about the process from Winston guys. It's was all driven by Keaton's Batsuit which was revolutionary.

                From LAT

Designer Robert Short, an Oscar-winning special effects/makeup artist, says the latex suits were specially treated to play down their rubber surface so they would look like basic stretch unitards. And, he says, they're hot inside. Shipp gets around that problem by wearing an undergarment that is water cooled, like one developed for race car drivers.
So you have Shipp in a bodysuit bladder, then the Batman vulcanized rubber to give body definition, then the latex layer to mute the rubber sheen, then multiple layers of paint spray to make it look like a fabric.

The current costumes are all based on Raimi's Spidey. This is a great first-hand breakdown

Tom Woodruff Jr., from StudioADI, shares some behind-the-scenes information about making the Spidey suit for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002). He also reveals what it was like working with Tobey Maguire, and the actor's battle with claustrophobia.

Then Winston changed a lot again on Iron Man with rapid prototyping. Ironic since that was his last completed work before he passed.

it was unfortunate that they were not able to fully translate Dave Stevens' (The Rocketeer creator) design into real life. I understand that the network didn't want an superhero costume, and was leaning towards Grey Sweats and light up shoes. I'm sure Batman '89 was used to convince them otherwise and that's what we got.
