I've been recording it and binge watched the first four episodes. Not sure if it's because it's on CINEMAX and they can use potty language or if it's just because the material feels a little deeper, but so far, four episodes in, it's been better than most of the run of TWD. I know nothing about Kirkman's comic, but the various storylines so far have been really well-executed. The cinematography is very well done, moody and dark, but not murky, and the musical score really enhances the show. It has an almost TRUE DETECTIVE (Season One) feel to it with some supernatural overtones. Or it could be perceived as SUPERNATURAL with a less tongue-in-cheek feel. Makes me really, really want to see one of the premium channels pick up CONSTANTINE and run with it.
